Call of the Colosseum

In Call of the Colosseum, the player gets a game with 5 reels on it, and with 25 paylines spread across them. The game, which was made by Amaya, has a $25,000 top prize, while the features added to it give us a wild, a scatter, free spins and multipliers.

The game takes us in the famous Roman arena called Colosseum, the place where the gladiators fought, and where the “circenses" part was given to the citizens to keep them in line (from the famous panem et circenses, or bread and circuses as it is known today). Keeping the masses entertained was important back then, and one of the main ways they were kept in line, and the gladiator fights that took place in the Colosseum were a huge part of that. The game is very beautiful, with lots of details, the kind of design that you would see in a Roman temple. The symbols are all related to the arena and to the gladiators that fought in it. You get the Emperor symbol as the wild, followed by the shield as the scatter, a woman that I assume is Cleopatra, a tiger on a chain leash, the Colosseum, a chariot, a tall shield with spears, a gladiator helmet, a bag with coins, Roman sandals, coins and grapes.

Wagers are limited to the coin value and the number of lines, with only one coin allowed for each payline. Up to $5 can be wagered on a line, with the maximum bet worth $125 as a result. The top jackpot is awarded for five symbols with Cleopatra on them, on the same payline, and it will pay 5000 coins, which can have a maximum value of $25,000.

One of the better features of the game is the wild, with the Emperor being the one on this symbol. The wild can only show up on the three reels that are in the middle, so the ones numbered 2, 3 and 4.

The other feature present here is the shield scatter symbol, which will both give away free spins, and cash prizes. The cash prizes will be given to the player for two to five symbols, and they can be in any position, as long as the minimum number is met. The prizes start at 2x the bet, and go up to 100x the bet made during that round ($12,500 maximum prize possible here).

The free spins are 10 in total, and three or more scatters have to appear for them to be awarded. These spins come with 2x multipliers. The wild Emperor symbol, when it shows up during the free spins, will give the classic Thumbs Up or Down, and if it's Up, the player gets another 3 spins for free.
