Downtown is a 1x2Gaming slot that could've just as easily been named Darktown, and you will get the same impression if you look at the dark graphics of this 5 reel/25 line game. The largest prize in this slot is $1,875, while the features includes free games, scatter symbols and wild symbols.

As I've mentioned above, the game is dark, to the point where black probably constitutes about 80% of the images on the screen, while white make up the rest. The only colored symbols appearing here would be the wild and the playing cards, using shades of red on them. The rest of the graphics look hand drawn, like comics that haven't being colorized yet. A city at night, with lit up skyscrapers, is visible behind the reels and it seems to be the area where the action takes place. The characters that are used as symbols are drawn by hand, and they represent a bandit, a mobster, a woman, the victim, the guy with glasses, the wild, the cell and the playing cards.

Downtown's betting requirements are pretty simple. At the very least, you have to use one coin to trigger at least one payline. You can select up to 25 lines though, and then use anywhere between 1 and 5 coins on them. The individual coins start with a value of $0.01 and can reach $0.50. $2.50 per line is the wager here, which translates into $62.50 total bets. As for the payouts, the game's 3,750 coins can become $1,875 cash at the maximum line bet.

The Bonus Round symbol is the one with the cell, seen move above. It's a scatter, so as long as you have three symbols of this type in any position you can get access to a shootout round. The prizes are better if you have more cells on the screen. You can also get paid with these symbols on the same payline, in which case they award 3x to 200x the bet.

The Free Spins symbol is a regular one, without scatter abilities, so it has to appear 3+ times on the same line. You can win 5 to 15 spins for free from it, plus a 2x multiplier. Finally, we have the wild symbol, marked with the yellow police tape and able to substitute for other symbols. It has no other bonuses to offer players.

The game is extremely dark and a lot of people will not enjoy it. I'm sure there will be plenty that will though as it's certainly not your usual slot machine.
