The action in Munchers takes place on a modern video slot layout with 5 reels with 25 paylines. This NextGen design offers free spins, a scatter symbol and a wild symbols plus a maximum slot win of $10,000.
If you enjoy a bit of horror action and that kind of movie is on your must see list, you will get a kick out of Munchers. The main characters in this game are alien looking creatures that seem inspired by the carnivore plants of Earth. The action takes place inside a hot house where plants are being grown and you can see the tangle of vines and plants growing chaotically behind the reels. The reels are also surrounded by vines and leaves (they also separate the reels). At the bottom of the reels you will notice five pots with plants out of which munchers will pop out and make menacing gestures from time to time. Symbols appearing here seem to be either insects that might serve as a tasty snack for the munchers or other types of objects/plants that look like they belong. Playing cards exist as symbols but they look like they're melting and they have vines around them. The other symbols are flies, spiders, working gloves, carnivore plants, watering cans and gardening tools.
The bets allow the players to use up to $50 on a single spin of the reels, where the lines each get $2 bets when they are maxed out. Each one of the 25 lines is selectable if the player wants to, but it's not a must. While the maximum line bet is $2 it's not fixed and it can be as low as $0.01. Payouts of up to 5000 coins or $10,000 are possible.
The muncher symbol (carnivore plant creature) is the wild feature here. Whenever you have a muncher on a payline it will try to take the place of other symbols if similar ones are nearby, so that a new combination can be created. If multiple wilds are present on the same line starting from the left you will get winning combinations of their own with the payouts going up to 5000 coins.
The watering can is the other symbol with a special role. It has the capability of a scatter and in that role it gives away prizes and free spins. The requirement is for 2+ symbols for payouts and 3+ symbols for free spins. The payouts go up to 100x the wager size while the free spins are 10 and they benefit from the presence of expanding wilds.
Munchers is a cool game with a theme that isn't seen anywhere else. It offers a good execution of the idea and can be a fun one to engage in.
