Gods of the Nile II, the second edition of the game with the same name, offers the player 5 reels with 20 paylines, and it's a game from OpenBet. The game's features are the wild symbols, the scatters, multipliers and free spins, plus a $20,000 top jackpot.

This is the second game with the same title from Open Bet, and it's an improvement in some ways, and a bit of a letdown in others. On one hand, we loved the $250,000 top jackpot of the predecessor. On the other hand, we can't be unhappy about the extras that were introduced, like the 2x multiplier of the wild, the scatter symbol with its free spins, or the improved graphics.

The reels have stone columns from inside a pyramid, with small statues at the bottom, while on the background of the paytable screen you will notice the ancient pyramids of Egypt, one of the greatest achievements of this country. Among the symbols used in the game there are the playing cards from 9 to A, the Egyptian cross, the scarab, the Eye of Ra and the cat, plus the special symbols (scatter, wild, feature symbol).

This second version changed the way the bets are made as well, and now the game allows for bets of up to $1,000 to be placed on a single spin of the reels, with bets of $50 made on each of the 20 paylines. Those with less accommodating budgets have the option to use fewer coins, or to decrease their value, all the way down to $0.25 if needed. The top jackpot of the game is a prize of 400 coins, translating into up to $20,000 cash.

One of the symbols that were improved in the second edition of this slot is the wild symbol, which now also awards a multiplier of 2x when it contributes to a combination.

Another improvement is the addition of the scatter symbol, which offers both free spins, between 15 and 25 of them, plus cash prizes, between 2x and 10x the bet made during that round. The scatter gives away these prizes when there are three to five symbols of this type, anywhere on the reels.

The final symbol, the bonus round trigger, needs a minimum of three to show up in order for the round to begin.

From the gameplay point of view, this game is definitely an improvement over its predecessor, but we really miss that top jackpot of $250,000.
