A slot with 5 reels and 30 paylines from Betsoft, Curious Machine has a 2500 coin top jackpot, meaning that up to $1,250 can be won. The features which will help the player include the wild symbol, the scatter and free spins.
The Curious Machine revolves around a steam punk inspired machine, created by the young man that's sitting right next to it. The entire room where the machine sits is built with the same design, with various valves, pumps and moving parts, plus a control console, complete with a comfortable looking chair. There is a small robot present in front of the reels as well, the same robot that can be seen as a symbol. Miles Bellhouse, the young inventor that created the machine, sits next to the console which controls it, and it's also one of the main symbols on the reels. The rest of the symbols include the little robot, the General, the control console, the pressure monitor, the futuristic looking city, the schematics, a vortex, a dinosaur and the machine which allows time travel.
Coin values in Curious Machine start up at $0.02 and can go as high as $0.50. The player may use up to 5 coins on each of the 30 lines, for a maximum bet of 150 coins, or $75. The top jackpot of 2500 coins is available for a 5 coin bet per line, and it pays up to $1,250.
Five symbols with Miles Bellhouse form the combination which is responsible for the top jackpot being awarded.
The symbol with the console which acts as the scatter will trigger the feature called Travel Through Time. While playing this round, the creator of the machine and his robot will run away from the General, but a minimum of three symbols are needed to activate it.
A vortex symbol may appear from time to time, acting as the game's wild. If a combination is formed with its help, then its role ends there. If the wild appears but isn't able to help form a new combination, it will activate its vortex powers instead, which allow it to spin the symbols that are near it, basically bringing new symbols on the reels, and hopefully forming new combinations this way.
Free spins can be won with at least three dinosaur symbols, which will get the machine back into the past. Besides getting free spins, the player gets a random multiplier as well, which varies between 1x and 5x.
It's one of the better looking slots from Betsoft, and I'd have no problem recommending it based on that alone. They didn't stop there though, and they've included quite a few features that are interesting.
