The game is themed around a famous UK game show, which took place at the end of the 80's and for a few years it proved to be quite popular. The honeycomb like structure of the reels is the same one that the show used. During the show, the hexagon spaces had letters on them, and the players would make picks, and would be asked questions based on the spot they chose, with the letter on it being the first one of the answer. For fans of the show, the slot should prove to be lots of fun, especially since it followed the graphics of that show closely enough. The symbols are another matter, and they're mostly card icons in this case, starting with the 10, and then continuing until the A. There are some additional symbols which are a bit more related to the game's theme, like the Blockbusters logo, the honeycomb display of the original show, or the two BB symbols. There are two special feature icons as well here, the Gold Run scatter and the Wild. Each symbol has a hexagon shape, just like the spots on the reels.

The game has only 15 paylines to offer, and the player can select as many of them as he wants. The coin betting range is between $0.02 and $30, with the game's largest bet being $450, and the top jackpot being $7,500. Five Blockbusters logos will be the ones to give away the 250 coins of the top jackpot.

Wild symbols cannot appear on the first reel of the game, leaving only the last four for it. Showing up on reels 2 to 5, the wild substitutes for other symbols, the Gold Run scatter being the only one excluded. If the wild helps a combo to form, it will activate an expanding wild feature.

The other feature of Blockbusters, the Gold Run scatter, is the one to trigger a bonus game. For that to happen, the minimum number of scatters that has to appear is three. The payouts offered in the game are based on the total bet, not on the line wager.
