Star Trek Episode 5 – Piece of the Action

Star Trek Episode 5 – Piece of the Action takes us on a WMS adventure with a slot that offers 5 reels and 25 paylines. The game comes with wild symbols and scatters and it gives away a jackpot of up to $4,000.

The Star Trek series that WMS created spans over multiple episodes and in each one the player gets to try on a slot that is similar to the previous one, but which usually comes with some extra symbols and with different bonus games. The graphics are perfect for a Star Trek game, though something based on the LCARS system would've made more sense. As they usually do, the developers have kept some of the symbols from the previous episodes and they've replaced others. The wild, the feature symbol, Spock, Cpt. Kirk and the insignia of Starfleet have always been used in the game. Besides them, we also get Dr. McCoy, Planet Earth, the starship Enterprise, a Klingon Bird of Prey, a picture of our galaxy and one with a planet with a ring around it.

The betting system is slightly different from the one used in previous games, though at its basis it's still the same combination of 25 coins for the lines and 10 coins for the feature bet. The player has a slider with total amounts, which he can use to choose his wager. The maximum amount he can use is $70, with $2 per line. The payouts give the player up to $4,000.

As always, the combination of symbols that awards the jackpot in these games uses five Starfleet insignia symbols.

The wild symbol remains the same logo of Star Trek and it can replace any other regular symbol in the game when it comes to creating new combinations. The Feature symbol is not replaceable with a wild though.

The second major feature offered in the fifth episode of the series is the Rescue bonus game. Each episode has a different bonus game and it's always based on the title of the game. In this case the Rescue bonus game is triggered when three to five symbols with Feature icons appear in any position on the reels. Luckily these are scatters, so they are fairly easy to trigger. With four or five symbols the player gets cash prizes as well, with up to $250 offered for four scatters and $2,500 for five scatters.

The fifth episode of Star Trek remains just as fun as the ones that came before it. I'd recommend this series to any fan of this great Sci Fi series.
