Luxor, a Slot that has 5 reels and 18 paylines, gives away prizes of up to $25,000, and it also has wild symbols, scatters, multipliers and Free Spins. The game is offered by the guys from ViG.

The slot’s theme is based on the ancient Egypt, and it’s one of the many slots out there that have this topic. Does this one stand out from all the rest? Not really, at least not as far as the design is concerned. While the background image is fine, it’s an image of a wall with ancient drawings on it, and you can’t really get that wrong. The symbols used on the reels however feel like a bit more work could’ve gone into them. Cleopatra for example looks like an old woman, and I doubt that was the intention for it. The rest of the symbols use a similar cartoon style, which doesn’t feel polished enough for a slot that asks for wagers of up to $450. Besides Cleopatra, which is used as the jackpot symbol, the player will also find images of the pharaoh, a mummy, a black cat, a cobra, playing cards between 10 and A (each one with its own small distinctive thing in the design), a scarab (scatter symbol), the Sphinx (bonus), the pyramid (bonus) and a crocodile (free spins).

Luxor allows for three things to be changed while the player creates his wager. First, he decides how big the coin value should be, the extremes being $0.01 at one end, and $5 at the other. Next, he chooses how many coins he wants to use on each payline, 1 to 5 of them being available. Finally, the player chooses on how many paylines he wants to make that wager, the limit being 18. The maximum bet of $450 will give out prizes of up to $25,000. A progressive jackpot is also available, and five Cleopatra symbols are needed for it.

The game has five different symbols that have some kind of role, and that’s a good mix, but it feels like some of them are underpowered. That’s mostly the case with the wild symbol, which substitutes for four regular symbols, but ignores the five playing cards. It has a 2x multiplier attached.

The scatter symbol with the scarab is useful though, giving the player prizes of up to 100x the total bet that was made, which means up to $45,000 in theory.

The game has two different Bonus symbols, plus free spins, of which the player can get up to 50, depending on how many symbols have triggered the feature.

The game is interesting enough because of its features, but the design misses the mark. If the graphics are not important to you, the game is worth trying out.
