The action in Mad Scientist takes place in his lab, the place where he gets all his crazy experiments done. You will see a trace of one of those experiments in the streaks of electricity moving around the top part of the screen. As for the mad scientist, you will see him at the bottom of the reels, a 3D character that does various things when you spin the reels. He doesn’t look that mad actually, seems like a regular character with white hair that is well groomed (and everyone knows that mad scientists have crazy looking hair), glasses, a moustache and a lab coat. The various option buttons are placed on beakers and containers. Symbols available in the game have images with Danger signs, power meters, the nuclear sign, power breakers, microscopes, beakers, black boards with formulas and bio hazard signs.

When you look at the number of lines available, and at the maximum number of coins usable per line, you quickly realize that this slot allows for considerable bets to be placed. Up to 150 coins may be used in bets, and with their value set to the maximum of $1, they can be worth $150. The top jackpot which is offered in the game is a 5000 coin prize, worth up to $5,000.

Wild’o’Cution is one of my favorite features in Mad Scientist, since it’s a symbol that if it shows up it will make every single symbol on one of the rows into a wild. The chance of getting a nice prize out of it is very good. The first three paylines are the ones that have to get it, and it’s a symbol that shows up on the first and the last reel.

The Bio Pick Me feature is another good one, since it gives the player instant wins of up to 175 coins if it shows up, and if there are 3 to 5 symbols.

The scatter symbol with the glass tubes triggers a Bonus game, as long as at least three symbols are present on the reels. During this feature, the player chooses various objects, and the scientist pours a serum on them, turning them into gold, and revealing the prizes as it does that.

The black board symbol is a regular wild, substituting for the symbols that have no special features attached.
