The game has a bit of a story like theme going on, with various creatures and characters which look like they belong in one. The image chosen to occupy the space behind the reels is one with various trees nearby a river, while the reels have images with plants, insects and some anime style characters. The top area of the screen has the Tumbletons logo and the coin denomination selector. Symbols on the paytable start out with the fairy symbol, which awards the jackpot, and goes on to the waterfall, the mushroom, a carnivore flower, the Tumbletons (characters with white, blonde and brunette hair), the spider and the flower. The special role symbols are the snake, the triangle and the tree.
Placing a bet in Tumbletons means having to select the number of coins used per line (1 to 10 possible), the number of lines (up to 15) and the value of each coin (starting out at $0.01 and going up to $1). The maximum bet, with all options maxed out, is $150, while the top jackpot of 100,000 coins means that up to $100,000 can be won.
You will get the big prize if you have the fairy symbol occupying an entire active payline. The prize in this case will be a 10,000x multiple for the line bet, so up to 100,000 coins.
A wild symbol can appear at times on the reels, substituting for other symbols that have no special role, helping them create better paying combinations. The symbol that acts as a wild is the one that has the image of a snake on it.
The scatter symbol is next, the image with the wooden triangle. It gives away free spins, and it's quite generous with its prizes, so it's my favorite feature in this game. You can win 10 spins with three scatters on the reels, 50 spins with four scatters and 100 spins if five scatters show up.
The last major feature which the game has to offer is the bonus round, triggered if the player manages to collect 1500 points.
It's an interesting game, appealing in its own way, and with some good prizes, but the overall design is not one of the better ones I've seen.
