I have an AP account, and VP247 won't let me register an account there because they are affilliated. I am assuming that I won't be able to play in tourneys even if they are listed on AP?

its not at AP (it shows in the list) but its a vegas 247 tourny!@! You need to have and account entered into the poker league pages for vegas poker 247.
